I got asked mistakenly to research for Manchester Gorton (I think the confusion is because I'm right on the edge of the consituency) but didn't realise this until I'd done the job for Manchester Central!
So, here's what I got, if it's any help!
Manchester Central
Current incumbent : LABOUR, Tony LLoyd. Chair Pairlimentary Labour Party. http://www.theyworkforyou.com/mp/tony_lloyd/manchester_central http://www.tonylloydmp.co.uk/bio.php
Has answered letters (Of 2 written, one actual answer, one brushoff). Has won this seat in two General Elections.
Under 'Key Issues' - the only local one is transport, he supports expanding the Metro tram, and re-regulation of buses. He might have been a spokesman for transport, but he's been spokesman for everything else as well, so it's not about personal interest.
LIBERAL : Marc Ramsbottom http://www.libdems.org.uk/people_detail.aspx?name=Marc_Ramsbottom&pPK=52249be5-95fa-4698-9407-c1fa2ff2f749 (found through http://www.libdems.org.uk/in_your_area.aspx) http://marcramsbottom.org.uk/
From 'Around MC constituency' - the massive failure that is New Islington seems to have got his goat. Shame he has to turn it in to a cronyism rant.
CONSERVATIVE : Suhail Rahuja http://www.conservatives.com/People/Prospective_Parliamentary_Candidates/Rahuja_Suhail.aspx Unfortunately, his entry seems to be empty, and I can't find a personal webpage. This might be because he's not a local..? http://www.westminsterconservatives.com/record.jsp?ID=75&type=article
As for what he stands for, maybe this bunch of generalities will help...Or maybe they might not - come on guys, when I ask for local I don't mean 'north of Watford' http://www.conservatives.com/Where_you_live/North_West.aspx
GREEN : Gayle O'Donovan http://www.manchestergreenparty.org.uk/localsites/manchester/people/gayle-odonovan.html
Has own blog which seems to be highly impassioned - at least, that's what the spelling and grammar errors imply. Unsurprisingly, she's against expanding Manchester Airport, and for getting more people onto bikes. She also features (root around in the archive) a complaint about GM Police looking to buy water cannons. http://gayleodonovan.blogspot.com/
